Examlpe: - A GREAT FILM - MAKER !!!

      Henry Brown was interested in making a cowboy film. Unfortunately, he wasn`t very good at convincing people to lend him money. In the end, he only got the money to make the film by selling his car. He was very unhappy about doing such a thing, but there wasn`t any other way. He didn`t get a lot of money for his car, so, instead of going to Texas, he made a film in his own house.
      He saved a lot more money by acting the film himself. He was also responsible for creating the film, editing it and distributing it. When the film was ready, Henry Brown took it to cinema. Unfortunately, he was the only person, who was interested in seeing the film. He was afraid of losing all his money, so he did a very clever thing:   He got rid of all the tickets by selling them to himself !!! :))

LESSON - 29. - WORDS !!! EXPRESSIONS !!! IDIOMS !!! - For EXTREME ADVANCED !!!

WORDS …… WORDS !!!

1. Meaning ..of the words;

Some words have double meaning and some - have multi - meaning.

For example - one and the same word could be a verb or a noun.

sport - спорт; - to sport - спортувам;

a skin - кожа; - to skin - oдирам кожата на ....;

а help - помощ; to help - помагам

a coat - палто, сако; - to coat - обличам, слагам покривка.

а drive - място, към което карам; - to drive - карам кола;

a peel - обелка; - to peel - беля, обелвам;

аn ape - шимпанзе, - to ape - имитирам;

а butcher - месар; - to butcher - кълцам, накълцвам;

а screw - отверка; - to screw - завинтвам;

a whip - камшик; - to whip - бичувам;

dust - прах; - to dust - бърша праха; напрашавам.

2. Morphemic Analysis:

Някои думи изглеждат като че са от едни и същи семантични полета, но те са носители на съвсем различно значение.

= retain - задържам, запазвам; запомням, ангажирам

= contain - съдържам ( се )

= detain - задържам, арестувам

= obtain - получавам, добивам, придобивам.

- receive - получавам, приемам, посрещам;

- conceive - мисля, разбирам; схващам; зачевам.

- perceive - схващам, възприемам.

- deceive - мамя, измамвам.

3. Combination of the words. -

Sometimes there is impossibility of logical combining.

A. The baby cries. - / there is a logical meaning /

B. The baby flies - / there is no logical meaning /

4. SET - EXPRESSIONS and IDIOMS.

There are words with direct and indirect meaning. For example:

- blue - bird - вид птица; - bluebird - вид муха;

- red - neck - човек със зачервен врат; - red – neck – man - селянин;

- white – color – worker - чиновник; -black – color – worker - черноработник;

- stone – wall - каменна стена; - stone – wall – castle - kaменно – стенен замък.

- night - cap - нощна шапчица; night - cap - малко питие преди лягане;

- RED – tape - Бюрокрация; - Red Tape - Червена лента - за печатане;

-RUN – HOME- бягай в къщи, спасявай се!!-HOME – RUN - ПОБЕДА!!

- All in eyes !! – целият съм зрение !! - Оh, my eye !! – O, Боже !!

- “All my eyes and Bethy MARTIN !!” – Глупости, бабини деветини !!

- Blue – eyed - синеок; - Short - Eyed - късоглед.

There are some ideas for different words for language:

- Foreign Language - Чужд език;

- Mother Tongue - Роден език;

- Slang - Жаргон

- Colloquial - Разговорен език.

5. EUPHENISM;

- This means that some words are TABOO. – For example:

Erection is forbidden in Architecture because its meaning – изправяне, издигане, вдигане; ерекция. / има двойно значение/

In 18^th Century for example it was forbidden the word - TROUSERS -for women, and it was changed with expression - “UNSPOKEN WORD“ . Now in poetry and Literature it is forbidden the word –“ To DIE” !! - Another words to substitude are - pass away, to breath one`s last, to join the angels, to kick the bucket, to beat the bell, to step off the big plank, to throw the horse- bow, to hug the bunch, to sleep for ever.

6. THOUGHTS for LOVE !!!!

- Shakespeare` s - HAMLET “ Doubt that the stars are fire; Doubt that the Sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a lier; BUT Never Doubt I LOVE YOU !!!”

She is an English teacher in my school. She has been working here for 8 years. My father`s name is D. He works in ENERGY REPAIRING. He has been working there for 11 years. My brother`s name is D. He was born on 6^th of April. Now he is 6 years old and he goes to the Kinder Garden. I have grandmother. She lives in a village, named M. Her husband, my grandfather, was dead before I was born. I visit her every Saturday. My other grandmother lives in B. with my grandfather. They live in a big house. I visit them every summer, because they live near the Seaside. BUT this summer I was in another resort with my boyfriend. We have fun !! It was SUPER !!! J

2. DET, 17, - My name is DET. I was born in SZ. On 7.12. But now I live in G. together with my mother D. and my father J. I am alone, without brother and sister. I like this, because everything is for my in the family. I love food so much. I can eat everything. Without sorrow. I think the food can give you pleasure, expect and satisfy. I want to study cooking some day. As good as my ….. father !! J He drives a bus. My mother works as a cashier. That`s everything for me for now. J

THE WORLD WILDLIFE FUND !!!

The World Wild Fund ( WWF ) is an Interesting Organization. It is collecting money to save WildLife. It was formed in 1961 and its Symbol is the Famous Giant Panda. It works to protect and save all forms of Wildlife - animals and plants. The Tiger and the Polar Bear were in danger but it is going to save them. It is going to save the Tropical Forests too. Tropical Forests are very important for everybody on Our Planet. Some other animals and plants are becoming very rare. The WWF is going to work and save them. It is going to teach people how to love and protect the Planet and all forms of life on it.

II. COLLECTING MONEY.

The WWF is going to collect money for saving Earth. The caose for this is because of the fact that the WWF is going to teach people to preserve our planet and life on it. It needs money to do it. It needs money for leaflets, TV programmes and films. A lot of young people and even children are members of the WWF. They visit people and tell them about its important work.

Roger and Jane are members of the World Wildlife Fund. At the weekend they are going to visit the neighbours and give them leaflets. They are going to tell them about the plans to save the Dolphins and they are going to ask for donations. They are going to make notes about the results of their visits. It`s Sunday Afternoon. Here are their notes.

III. BABY SEALS ARE DYING !!!

In CANADA people kill about 40 000 baby seals every year. They make coats, hats, and also handbags from their skin. Last week Jane and Dave joined a protest group. They protested outside a shop with sealskin coats in its windows.

- SAVE BABY SEALS !!!

- Don`t destroy Wildlife on the Earth !!!

- Why are you protested ??

- We want to stop the killing of baby seals. Do you know how many baby seals must die to make a fur coat ???

- No, I don`t. But I believe that they don`t suffer.

- You are wrong. People take tnem from their mothers and kill them BRUTALLY. They suffer a lot.

- I don`t know. If there are too much seals, they are going to eat all the fish. I think people can and must kill some of them.

- You are wrong again. They are not going to eat all the fish. NATURE controls that, you know. I`m sorry for you but you don`t understand. Is your life going to be worse without a fur coat ???

IV. ARE THERE in BULGARIA SUCH SIMLAR PROLEMS ????

Some animals are going to die but we can save them. They are going to disappear if we don`t save them. People can stop killing animals. Some plants are in danger, too. I can`t tell you, their names, because they are too many. Of course you can`t kill a plant like animal. But you can destroy the forests and then a lot of plants die. In Bulgaria there are such problems, too. WE CAN HELP the Ecological Organizations. We can collect money for them. And we mustn`t destroy trees or pick flowers when we go to the Mountain or Seaside.

NOW tell me, please, about similar BG problems - with BG forests, snow – drop, crocus, pine, edelwise, some birds - like swallow, pink pelican, flamingo, eagle, hawk, lark, some animals - like bear, wolf, wild – pig; and tell me - are there in BG seal, kangaroo, polar bear, koala, panda, tiger, lion, zebra, elephant, crocodile, monkey, gorilla ???

We can express Future with " Be Going to " - construction. In BG Language that means - ЩЕ .....
For example :
1. We are going to watch   that film next week. - Ние ще гледаме филма следващата седмица.
2. I am going to see my aunt tomorrow. - Аз ще посетя леля си утре.
3. She is going to write her project next month. - Тя ще пише проекта си следващия месец.
4. He is going to travel to Canada after three days. -   Той ще пътува за Канада след 3 дни.
5. They are going to celebrate their wedding day on 4th of July. - Те ще честват годишнината от сватбата си на 4 юли.

Урок - 27 ЛОНДОН. Разглеждане на Забележителностите.

   Sightseeing Tour and Excursion around London - Britain
   ========================================

Our tour begins with a visit inside the famous Royal Albert Hall. We go with the famous Red Dubble - Decker. We go to Westminster to see the Houses of Parliament and Whitehall. You can check the time by Big Ben as we drive round Parliament Square. Next we visit the Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is one of the most interesting historical places in London. The Kings and Queens of England are crowned here. You can also see the thombs of many   Kings and   Famous Poets.
    Next we go to the Buckingham Palace in time for the Changing of the Guard. They are famous with their Red Uniforms and Black Bear Hats.
