УРОК -11 - LESSON Number - 11

              Past  SIMPLE  or  Past    PROGRESSIVE ?
             ===============================

       ТУК  ще се научите  КОГА  и КАК да  употребявате  Мин. Просто  Време  и  Мин .Продължително  Време   в едно  и  също  изречение,  според  дължината  на  извършваното  действие !!!   Урокът е подходящ   както  за   Среднонапреднали, така и   за  Много  напреднали,  в  зависимост  от  тяхното  НИВО !!!  


 When  you  speak  about  the actions  in the past  there are three  ways  to  express yourself :

   1.  If   the actions are followed  one  after   another -  you  can  use  only  PAST  SIMPLE.
For example:    I  got up early in the  morning,   had  breakfast, watered  the  flowers  and  then  I  went  out.

   2.  If  there  are  two  actions -  one  short,  and  one  long,  you  can  use  PAST  SIMPLE  for  the  short  action,  and   PAST   PROGRESSIVE - for  the  long  action .
      Example :   It  was  raining when  I  took  my  umbrella  and  went  out .

   3.  If  the two  actions  in the  past  are  long  enough you  can  use  only  PAST  PROGRESSIVE  for  them .

     Example :     My  mother  was  cooking  the  dinner  while   my  father   was  reading  his  newspaper.


There  you  can  use  also  only   PAST  SIMPLE :
       My  mother  cooked  the  dinner  and  my  father read  his  newspaper .

  NOW  it  is  your  turn :

    4.  Boys   . . . . . . . . . . .  ( play )  football  while   girls  . . . . . .. .. . . . .  ( pick  up  )  flowers .

    5 . Peter  . . . . . . . .  ( drive )  his  car very  carefully, when  suddenly  a  boy  . . . . . .. . .  ( jump )  to  the  street .

    6 . Kate  . . . . . . .. . ..  (  be ) ill,  so  she   (  go )  to  the  hospital yesterday . There she  . . . . . . . . . . . . .  (  watch )  TV  in  her  free time .
